I'd love to keep all thoughts here on this thread for the trip to the "Big Apple". Like getting everyone that wants to go to coordinate their plans with eachother here. No matter where you're comming from...
Driving? Flying? How long are you staying? Hotels. Taxis. Eating. Money. etc...
Personally, I've never been to New York much less NYC! Would need some help with navigating and such. I have no friends or family there so I'm coming in completly cold and somewhat cluless

Let 'er rip!

That's a bit optimistic now.Are you still having the July 6th UK Release?

We should go for a hotel reasonably within reach of the venue.Don't know if this reply fits here but the topic is a good one...

Not been to NYC for about ten years, guess things may have changed.

We are discussing this right now.How about recording the entire Knitting Factory gig on video for a DVD release?
MAV, you were checking into NYC lodging for participants with someone you knew. What happened about that?
This is still an option, but it would not be the most comfortable enviroment for too many people. It is a wharehouse in Brooklyn that some friends of mine live in.

Would be great if we could decide on a common stopover point.

Anyone from NYC know a reasonable hotel?
I am looking into that right now. As for the wharehouse, atleast 2 people can there as of right now. I will have atleast 4 people with me too. I am open to putting in for a hotel that all of the Artists can stay @ too.
I am also allowing any Artist (who needs to) to play one of my guitars, & I am bringing my Fender Twin, SWR (15) Bass Amp & Peavy (15) Bass Amp for any Artist to use, if need be.
I am also making the schedule right now. I will leave alittle flexibilty, but not much because of the obvious.
Let me know any concerns, anytime....................MV

Here is the intial breakdown of the 2 nights with 20 Minute Sets each.
A few Artists have not gotten back because they are on tour, but they will let me know soon. That is why I have left a slot or 2 open for each night. A few slots can be altered, but this was made based on when most said that they could be there for one personal reason or another. I am open to suggestions, & nothing is final. This is NOT the Order of appearance either.
I am also looking into another night @ a club in Brooklyn a relative of Stan Getz' owns. He seemed very into the idea. I am also in the process of booking a Fretless Guitar Clinic or 2 & a Radio spot. If all of this works out; then there will be more time for all to perform. Everyone can sell any Product they have @ any of these events too............................................................MV

The Artists I am waiting to hear back from are Dave FUZE Fiuczynski,
Ron BUMBLEFOOT Thal & Andrzej Izdebski. Pretty much everyone else has said yes or no, but all want to come. There are a few Maybes out there too from some Artists including Yan Vagh & Sándor Szabó. This is shaping up to be the largest Fretless Guitar Concert ever in North America. Maybe if we can get some funding on the backside a few more key players could come, & then we would have to add a third night, WOW!!!!! VVV

Looks cool
I'm hoping to have my old guitar teacher and friend stick master, Steve Adelson www.steveadelson.com come out and play. He's amazing, and has expressed interest in coming out. So stick and fretless could be very scary.
Later,
Tim
(Ps. check out the video on steve's sight with guitarist Scotty Anderson, it is insane:)
