The steel one sounds like a better option if you already have a glissentar.

Does sound better than the nylon though.

I hope the steel one in the video wasn't just a one off.

Not only did it sound incredible with steel strings-but it could be a gateway towards an actual steel string fretless guitar from Godin- acoustic or electric...

I'll second that, the steel one sounded the business, but will they run with two models?

Good news..potentially...
Rumor has it that the sunburst one (wait till the camera gets to the multi ouds) will be made for steel strings...or you might be able to string either of them with steel...not sure.

whats with the Godin explorer at the end!? :P

http://www.themusicz...h-the-multioud/
here they say the sunburst is steel...then again they say it's got 10 strings so I don't know.

Music Zoo is actually near me....they're a little....interesting. Safe to say that I don't, and will not, shop there. For anything.

I got one - it is rather amazing, I have played oud for about ten years and this solves many of the ergonomic challenges of the instrument.

I spoke to my contact at Godin and the only difference between the steel and nylon version is the sunburst on the steel strings. The techs at Godin said that with standard oud tunings (Arabic or Turkish) the tension is low enough that it does not matter. So they are interchangeable. I have not yet tried steel strings on mine but I think it will sound much like a sarod. (you can here it in the Fahtti video on the godin site

I am writing a full review and will post it soon in the blog section of my website

That's very interesting, where are you based, to get the instrument so soon?
