No need to ponder, like Villager; 7 string, baritone, metal fingerboard, dual MIDI output (ask me), sustainer, MONSTER! Maybe I will have to beg Patrice to build this for me. --J

I'm back...............Well, the main idea I am working on here I can't get to deep into, but basically a double neck Fretless Guitar/Bass w/ metal fingerboards & 2 seperate outputs for each with extended scale lengths for both.

Perfect for your live work but for me the double necks are unweildy. Or heavy. That's why I use the VG88 - instant retune! If you want bass you just select the patch, and then you can also define some strings as bass, some normal. Or just retune the guitar on the fly. Want a capo at the 2nd fret, easy, want a capo at -10 frets, instant super baritone. --J

or alternatively how about something like this thing but obviously without the frets,

I think that company do a 9 string fretless bass too...... (like mine, errrr, sort of...)

I might try to knock something like that up one day - sans frets

I have seen that before & Love it.
I like the idea of a light weight double-neck, & I love the unique feel of each instrument on my fingers. I also play with harmonizers here & there, but in the end nothing can replace the feel & tone of the actual instruments to me.

Peice of cake, I have another one waiting to go. This time I'll try it with a maple fretboard. The other one was just made out of an old Squire strat. Someone had smashed it, so I trimmed the body down. I would be willing to make one for anybody, for a price.

Thanks for posting those. They look good to me. I envy you all three of them, and especially the acoustic one.
