Old news but still wonderful.... Too bad he didn't play any fretless guitar on the Aristocrats recording which came out around this time. I also wish I could say why he & BBF didn't want to perform at the Summit this year.....................

Overall it's a very nice video and demonstrates how "normal" a fretless guitar can sound and the wonders it can do within 12 tone music.
Sad to hear he's not doing very much music with it. It seems he's got a good handle on chords and scales with it...don't see a reason why he wouldn't.

Sorry if this has already been posted- a newer video of Guthrie with the later version of the Surfretter, the one with a maple top and the "imetal" fingerboard:
