Remember back to the times when we used to have fun on the forum?

Slimming link

Well a few days back I got this e-mail:

hello, are you the man who bought a kenwood chef wih green shield stamps thirty years ago? I'm researching a project about the Chef and all the different ways people bought it and used it an why they get stuck in cupboards and what they are used for....if you have got one i'd like to ask you about it. What do yo think?

It took me a while to twig it was the slimming thread and Google, but eventually I got rung up and interviewed.

Looks like my story and Gazza's recipe might get published next year.

You see, fretless guitar can take you places you never imagined.

Speak for yourself, I still do! Though I must say these days I partake with marginally average diminished frequencyness....

I read through that thread yesterday! I was on form in that one, innit!

So who's the saddo who's researching the food mixer? Where's the distruction video? and how's the diet gone? :vomit:

Perhaps I should make up another batch of that stuff for old times sake?

Actually a very interesting lady who works as an independant TV producer, her work is often aired on BBC4, one of my recent favourites was a two parter on British comics.

That was a good thread, and we had Emily!

Make another batch.

What do you mean, "you had Emily?"

That thread was good.

I love the weird British TV shows on strange obscure stuff. The radio shows too. I wish the BBC would just get its crap together and figure out how to put this stuff on the web. I'd gladly pay the TV license fee to be able to get the stuff outside of the UK. With the number of times they tried to get me to pay for the TV license after I already had one when I was there, I'd think they would be happy to have me pay for one now.

Rob, we ALL had Emily, did you miss out?

Yes the licence fee is well worth while, I think you will find all the leading edge comedy drives through radio first, then on to TV. I'm constantly amazed at the quality, Joe Caulfields rant last week about the Scottish tourist advice book for Merknins had me weak at th knees laughing.- priceless stuff that makes you laugh out loud while driving on your own....
