I've tried to find the movies on DVD. Haven't been able to yet. They were such an amazing combination of cool and cheese.

If I must 'hero status' anyone it would be Sid James. Difficult to find the perfect clip of him for those who've never heard of him - but in the clip above you at least get to experience that laugh

Nostalgia is an amazing emotion... when I first came to istanbul 22 years ago, the streets were FULL of american cars from the 50's (this was because of some 'development' program i which turkey was given thousands of cars - - - or something like this?) - - - I mean, generally I hate cars (more accurate- I hate pollution and noise and conjested streets), but the sight of all those round old cars on instanbuls streets just made my heart sing!

Coming here again after over 2 decades -- no more old Chevy's, only new Korean and Italian shitboxes... it killed 75% of istanbul's charm!

It's the PC movement - at least in the UK, they shut down any sense of simple fun on the grounds that sex, sexism, sexuality is offensive and dangerous....
