:(
Are you on the length thing again Jeff?

Mines still embarrasingly scribbled out on a bit of paper on the music stand.

I've promised myself that I'll practise it up before banging it down... for once..

Still no good ideas on the collective noun for fretless players - except for maybe 'Slippies', which sounds deliciously cruel - :P

Are tracks with vox anything to be ashamed of? I know you lot aren't to big on wailing and grunting......

I'm pretty sure vocal tracks are to be commended.

The "no grunting" was to stop Villager slipping his pig in. (rearrange)

Oiy, lay off me pig. From now on I live in "a" village, rather than "the" village. :(

I got started on the compilation submission this morning. I'm trying to make it free and yet palatable, jaz yet tech, in other words it's not there yet. But I have some confidence.

I recorded my submission for the compilation record. It's about 4:50 min. I'm still figuring out how to mix it. Any thoughts/suggestions/specifications?

Greetings all,

Just a quick question or two, have we set a final deadline for submissions, and have we decided on a final destination for the unmastered tracks?

It's not that I'm going to be cutting it fine time wise, or at least I hope not anyway :D

and did you ever find that bloody pig, Villager?

Oh, and that bloody silly orange guitar (see avatar) is going to get smashed when I've finished it! Ever since I decided to rebuild & re-paint it, It's been the most sustainless, characterless, problematic piece of junk I've seen since I last looked in the mirror! I guess you'll hear it's last outing!

Um... if the cd is being mastered, should tracks be left uncompressed and EQs be more modest rather than a final mix type of presentation? I want to send you my track in the best presentation I can make it but I don't want to do anything the mastering engineer will wish I hadn't done.

I was hoping Monosynapsis could do the mastering, hang fire while we check that out.
My mastering skills are on a par with my routing skills, so best have someone else in the frame.

Sorry I'm a bug. Checking on where we're at again. I've got a track and I think I'm done with any changes. What should I do now?
